Shanghai, April 2026 — Mr. Guan Sen, Chairman of SATSUKI TRAVEL (Shanghai Xingbin International Travel Service Co., Ltd.), visited the Consulate General of Turkey in Shanghai at the invitation of H.E. Ms. Özlem Kural, Consul General of Turkey in Shanghai. Mr. Ataberk Mercan, Deputy Consul General, and Ms. Tuğçe Terzi, Commercial Attaché, also attended.
Consul General Kural highlighted 2026 as the 55th anniversary of China–Turkey diplomatic relations. She noted that Turkish Airlines operates direct flights from Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, and Chengdu to Istanbul, and confirmed Turkey's participation at ITB China and CIIE this year. Beyond iconic sites like Ephesus and Cappadocia, she emphasized Turkey's world-class golf and winter sports resources as ideal for joint product development.
Chairman Guan Sen reviewed SATSUKI's track record since 2018 at the İzmir International Tourism Fair and Istanbul MICE events. He expressed interest in cultural exchanges around the Chinese porcelain collection at Topkapı Palace Museum and invited the Consul General to visit Suzhou.
Both parties agreed to deepen cooperation on three fronts: destination product development (Ephesus, Cappadocia, Belek, Fethiye); sports tourism via collaboration with Turkish Airlines on golf programs; and institutional linkages with Turkish chambers and tourism associations to drive two-way inbound/outbound flows.
